MGM Resorts lay off 18,000 furloughed workers

MGM Resorts International have announced they are to terminate the contracts of 18,000 staff from across America who were previously on furlough due to the Coronavirus.

At the start of 2020 MGM employed 70,000 staff members in the U.S. alone.

CEO Bill Hornbuckle wrote in a letter to employees:

“Nothing pains me more than delivering news like this, The heart of this company is our employees and the world-class service you provide. Please know that your leadership team is working around the clock to find ways to grow our business and welcome back more of our colleagues.”

Park MGM in Las Vegas remains closed as does MGM’s Empire city in New York.
